The Pain Medicine Department of Sanya Central Hospital (The Third People's Hospital of Hainan Province) is a provincial-level pain medicine center supported by provincial financial funds. It is recognized as a Class I provincial key clinical discipline, the Hainan Provincial Pain Quality Control Center, and a training base for spinal endoscopic diagnosis and treatment technologies. The department integrates pain medicine, spinal surgery, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation into a multidisciplinary specialty. The team consists of professionals with backgrounds in pain management, anesthesiology, orthopedics, traditional Chinese medicine, and rehabilitation medicine. Their expertise in integrated technologies and personalized treatment plans is a hallmark of the department. The department leads the Hainan Provincial Pain and Spinal Minimally Invasive Alliance. The "Rong Xueqin Innovative Pain Diagnosis and Treatment Studio," led by the department’s head, Rong Xueqin, has been recognized as the "Sanya Craftsman Talent Studio" and the "Hainan Provincial Employee Innovation Studio." Rong Xueqin has also been awarded the "Sanya Famous Doctor Studio" by the city government.
The department’s scope of practice covers the following five areas:
1. Soft Tissue Injuries: Chronic pain caused by soft tissue injuries;
2. Spinal Disorder: Degenerative cervical and lumbar spine conditions;
3. Pathological Neuropathic Pain: Pain resulting from nerve injuries;
4. Cancer Pain: Pain management for metastatic spinal tumors, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, and other malignancies;
5. Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
