Established in 1985, the Thoracic Surgery Department is a comprehensive clinical department integrating medical care, teaching, and research. In 2011, it was recognized as a key specialty in Hainan Province, a key discipline in Sanya City, a national residency training base, and a national endoscopy technology development base. The department currently has 33 medical professionals, including 8 specialized doctors (4 senior professional titles, 3 intermediate professional titles, and 1 resident physician, with 3 holding postgraduate degrees) and 23 nursing staff. It admits approximately 2,000 inpatients annually and performs over 500 surgeries each year. The department is equipped with advanced imported surgical instruments and equipment, including ventilators, high-definition thoracoscopy systems, ultrasonic scalpels, cardiac ultrasound machines, multi-functional monitors, blood gas and electrolyte analyzers, defibrillators, and an intensive care unit (ICU).
Common Diseases Treated
Pulmonary nodules, benign and malignant lung tumors, benign and malignant esophageal tumors, mediastinal tumors, chest wall deformities (e.g., pectus carinatum, pectus excavatum), hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of hands and feet), chest trauma and rib fractures, pleural diseases, tracheal diseases, and bronchiectasis.

Single-port thoracoscopic radical lung cancer surgery, robot-assisted lung cancer surgery, non-intubated anesthesia surgery for pulmonary nodules, anatomical lung segmentectomy, thoracoscopic subxiphoid mediastinal tumor surgery, tracheal tumor resection and bronchial sleeve resection, combined thoracoscopic and laparoscopic radical esophagectomy (three-incision approach: neck, chest, and abdomen), thoracoscopic pectus excavatum correction, thoracoscopic hyperhidrosis surgery, thoracoscopic bullae resection.
