The General Surgery Department was established in 1962 and has grown alongside the only Grade A tertiary hospital in southern Hainan. General Surgery Ward II (Hepatobiliary, Pancreatic, Spleen, and Vascular Minimally Invasive Surgery) became an independent department in 2017.
