The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department of Sanya Central Hospital (The Third People's Hospital of Hainan Province) was established in 1962. Through the unremitting efforts of several generations, it has developed into a comprehensive department integrating clinical practice, teaching, and scientific research. It is a key professional discipline at the hospital level, a national-level training base for obstetrics and gynecology residents, a national drug clinical trial base, a provincial-level critical maternal care center in Hainan Province, a member unit of the National Hysteroscopy Diagnosis and Treatment Medical Consortium, and a member unit of the National Pelvic Floor Dysfunction Specialist Alliance. It has two wards, namely the gynecology ward and the obstetrics ward. The gynecology section conducts gynecological oncology, general gynecology, gynecological endocrinology, and female rehabilitation and health care. The obstetrics section provides comprehensive high-quality diagnosis and treatment for pregnant women with a focus on severe cases. It has a medical team with noble medical ethics and standardized diagnosis and treatment. The annual number of inpatients reaches more than 6,000 person-times, and the annual outpatient volume reaches more than 100,000 person-times. Currently, 90 beds are open. There are 10 doctors with senior professional titles and 6 masters. The application of HIFU in the treatment of uterine fibroids and adenomyosis in gynecology, as well as robot-assisted laparoscopy and 4K fluorescence laparoscopy in the treatment of gynecological tumors, ranks first in southern Hainan. The Obstetrics and Gynecology Department has reached an advanced level in the province in terms of difficult and severe cases, gynecological minimally invasive procedures, gynecological oncology, and pathological obstetrics.
