Established in 2004, the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) has 1 chief physician, 4 associate chief physicians, 3 attending physicians, 2 resident physicians, and 38 nurses, including 1 master's supervisor and 1 master's degree holder. The unit operates 15 beds.

The ICU treats over 500 critically ill patients annually, including those with shock, trauma, poisoning, organ failure, acute myocardial infarction, severe infections, sepsis, major surgeries, and public health emergencies. It is equipped with advanced technologies such as ECMO, hemodynamic monitoring, continuous bedside purification, IABP, brain function monitoring, and critical care ultrasound.

Over the past decade, the ICU has advanced in medical technology, education, and research, becoming a critical care center for southern Hainan. In 2020, it was designated as a residency training base and clinical drug trial base. The department has led 2 provincial and municipal research projects and published over 10 professional papers.
