Established in June 2023 as part of the hospital’s Cardiovascular Disease Center, Cardiovascular Ward II of Sanya Central Hospital plays a crucial role in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The department has a highly skilled medical team of 8 doctors (including the deputy director), consisting of 1 chief physician, 4 associate chief physicians, 2 attending physicians, and 1 resident physician, with 5 holding master’s degrees. The department has 50 beds, including 4 ICU beds and 46 general beds, and operates 2 independent outpatient clinics.

Cardiovascular Ward II primarily treats cardiac diseases other than acute coronary syndromes, focusing on arrhythmias, heart failure, coronary artery disease, hypertension, and cardiomyopathy. It is responsible for annual cardiovascular risk screening and the "2+3" hypertension health package program. The department performs approximately 500 coronary-related surgeries and over 100 electrophysiology-related surgeries annually. It has introduced cardiac rehabilitation technologies and aims to further develop expertise in electrophysiology, cardiac critical care, and cardiac rehabilitation. The department has established a hypertension center and plans to develop centers for atrial fibrillation, cardiac rehabilitation, and heart failure, striving to become a leading cardiovascular specialty in southern Hainan. Ward II has been committed to the synchronous development in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases, medical education, and clinical scientific research. As the professional base of cardiology in the National Drug Clinical Trial Institution, it has undertaken a number of clinical drug trials.
