Recently, the official website of the Capacity Building and Continuing Education Center of the National Health Commission released the Notice on Announcing the Selection Results of the 2023 Advanced Cognitive Impairment Diagnosis and Treatment Center and Memory Impairment Prevention and Control Center. After strict selection through three links of the online preliminary review, on-site evaluation, and online defense, as well as comprehensive evaluation by experts, Sanya Central Hospital (The Third People's Hospital of Hainan Province) was officially determined as an "Advanced Cognitive Center (Construction) Unit".

Our hospital attached great importance to this application. Led by the Department of Neurology, all relevant functional departments collaborated closely and actively carried out the application work. After passing through the links of qualification application, data submission, qualification verification, material review, and the second-round defense, through layers of selection, our hospital was finally successfully selected as a national "Advanced Cognitive Center" construction unit.

The Neurology Department of our hospital has been promoting the standardized diagnosis and treatment of senile cognitive impairment for many years. Currently, the hospital has a specialized outpatient clinic for memory and cognitive impairment, an advanced cognitive function assessment and training room, and a maturely operating specialized ward for cognitive impairment. It can provide standardized diagnosis and treatment services such as cognitive assessment, etiological diagnosis, drug treatment, and cognitive rehabilitation for patients with dementia and cognitive impairment.

Being approved as a National Advanced Cognitive Center (Construction) Unit will further improve the standardized diagnosis and treatment system for cognitive impairment in our hospital, perfect the screening, evaluation, prevention, and management of cognitive functions, and meet the needs of the people for cognitive impairment prevention and treatment services. In the future, our hospital will take this as an opportunity to continue to be committed to the standardized diagnosis and treatment of cognitive impairment diseases and the cultivation of professional talents in the region, play a leading and exemplary role in the region, meet the needs of cognitive impairment disease prevention and treatment services, and serve the increasingly severe aging society. We will jointly promote the standardized, normalized, and scientific management of the diagnosis and treatment of cognitive impairment diseases in the region and boost the high-quality development of the diagnosis and treatment of cognitive impairment in the region!
