Hou Benxin, M.D., Chief Physician, Associate Professor of Surgery, and Master’s Supervisor, has been engaged in clinical, scientific, and teaching work in general surgery and oncology for 26 years. Dr. Hou possesses a solid theoretical foundation in both general surgery and oncology, and has accumulated rich clinical experience; specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hepatobiliary, pancreatic, and spleen diseases, vascular diseases, and pediatric surgery. Dr. Hou currently serves as a Standing Member of the Surgery Professional Committee of the Hainan Medical Association, Vice Chair of the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery Professional Committee of the Hainan Medical Association, Vice President of the Vascular Surgery Physician Branch of the Hainan Medical Doctor Association, Editorial Board Member of Journal of Hepatopancreatobiliary Surgery, and Editorial Board Member of Journal of Hainan Medical University.
After moving to Hainan in 2013, Dr. Hou has promoted the specialization of hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, and established and advanced the specialization of vascular surgery and pediatric surgery. He has led his medical team in performing numerous advanced surgical techniques and adopted a multidisciplinary treatment (MDT) approach, developing individualized and standardized treatment plans in line with the principle of “maximizing patient benefit”.
Dr. Hou has completed one National Natural Science Foundation project, is currently conducting one Hainan Provincial Natural Science Foundation project, and is involved in five other Hainan provincial research projects; published over 20 medical papers (articles), with four indexed in PubMed.
