Male, Han nationality, born in October 1958, Member of the Communist Party of China, Director of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery, General Hospital of Guangzhou Military Command, Guangdong Province, and candidate for the “Excellent Communist Party Member” award under the National Creation and Excellence Initiative.

Dr. Zhang initiated and led the “Great Love for the Heart” campaign, providing assistance to more than 8,400 children from impoverished families with congenital heart disease across 11 provinces (regions) and over 30 ethnic groups. This initiative helped reduce medical costs by over 100 million yuan. Dr. Zhang has been awarded several honors, including “Model of Southern Guangdong” and “Top Ten Most Beautiful Doctors in China”. In 2015, he was nominated as a candidate for the Fifth National Moral Model from Guangdong Province and received the title of “Model of Helping Others” during the Fifth Guangdong Province Moral Model Awards in October 2015.

Dr. Zhang and his team have dedicated themselves to research and overcome challenges, mastering more than 20 complex surgical techniques for congenital heart disease, covering over 100 types of diseases.
