Feng Hongjun graduated from the Clinical Medicine Department of Xinxiang Medical University in 1997. From October 2004 to June 2007, he pursued a master’s degree at Wenzhou Medical University, specializing in internal medicine with a focus on the mechanisms of liver fibrosis and drug resistance in Acinetobacter baumannii; after graduating in 1997, he worked at Pingdingshan Electric Power Hospital and completed advanced training at the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan Medical University from 1999 to 2000; after earning his master's degree in 2007, he joined the Gastroenterology Department of Pingdingshan First People’s Hospital (affiliated with Pingdingshan University), where he was promoted to Chief Physician in 2016; in 2008, he participated in the Wenchuan earthquake relief efforts, earning accolades such as “Outstanding Individual in Earthquake Relief” from Henan Province and “Outstanding Communist Party Member” from the city; in 2012, he pursued further training at Southern Medical University; in 2013, he participated in medical aid activities in Xinjiang, providing hands-on training in gastrointestinal endoscopy to a physician at Barkol County Hospital. In 2019, Dr. Feng was recruited to Sanya Central Hospital through Hainan Province's “Good Dean, Good Doctor” talent initiative. As the head of the Gastroenterology Department, Dr. Feng has developed departmental and disciplinary plans, established peak and altitude diseases and subclinical professional group and development planning, and set up an ICU and emergency room. Dr. Feng also introduced a day ward and over ten new technologies, including endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), capsule endoscopy, ERCP and stone removal, endoscopic hemostasis for non-esophageal variceal bleeding, endoscopic variceal ligation and sclerotherapy, gastric variceal glue injection, digestive tract stent implantation, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD), artificial liver support, liver elastography, and high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) ablation. These advancements have earned recognition from peers and patients nationwide; published over 20 papers in SCI and Chinese core journals and led or participated in 5 provincial and municipal research projects.
